God’s Destined Path

The Vision

A year ago, before I created this blog I was in the car on the way up to New Hampshire. I was brainstorming a ministry, I had a few people in mind and different roles they might take, and even started to look at different church models.

Shortly thereafter, I created this blog. I included the name of the ministry I intended on starting “Called to Freedom Ministries”. Just as I started this, I got side-tracked. It happens often, as I have ADHD. When I logged back in a few months ago, I noticed just how out-of-date the website was. Among other things that I found interesting.

You see, in the past year I have started doing a lot more web design, as my mom owns a business consulting group and I started working for her. I also happened to read a few different spiritual/religious Christian books that my mom had on her bookcase. Including a book called “Culture of Honor”.

What’s funny is, even in the time I didn’t post on here- I’ve been learning the ideal way to set it up. Getting back into it, I started thinking more and more about the ministry. I started a website just for the ministry. I’m actively working on it, and I do have to say- I think it’s going to be amazing.

It wasn’t until I started researching different church roles to know and identify the needs that I remembered that just last year, I was on this same subject.

Today I started working on the ministries culture and decided a culture of honor would be ideal, and I can’t tell you how hard reality hit me. I realized that all this year, while I was beating myself up for not posting or not being as motivated as I should have, I have been working more and more towards my destiny.

There is really so much to tell about this past year and how all the little details add up, but no one wants to read a book right now, LOL.

So after praying hard earlier about what our values for our culture should be, what should I do on the site next, ect… I did a couple hours of work on the site. I then decided I should do a bible study, so I opened my bible to a random page. It brought me to Daniel 2, in general.

I didn’t get the feeling that any of the particular verses were sticking out for me to do a bible study, though I did have some thoughts about the passage.

What stuck out to me was when I got to Daniel 2:20-23.

Daniel 2:20-23 (NIV)

20 and said:

“Praise be to the name of God for ever and ever;
    wisdom and power are his.
21 He changes times and seasons;
    he deposes kings and raises up others.
He gives wisdom to the wise
    and knowledge to the discerning.
22 He reveals deep and hidden things;
    he knows what lies in darkness,
    and light dwells with him.
23 I thank and praise you, God of my ancestors:
    You have given me wisdom and power,
you have made known to me what we asked of you,
    you have made known to us the dream of the king.”

This stuck out to me because just earlier, I prayed for wisdom in this process. I prayed for the power to reach other peoples hearts to the full extent of Gods will. I prayed that in Christ that I may raise up strong leaders and followers in His name.

Don’t ever forget that God is always with you, and there’s always something new to learn. Even when you don’t feel like your getting anywhere, or feel that you “messed up” what you were called to do, God will put you right back on your purpose.

If our God is for us, then who can stand against us?
